The first 40 days are very critical to the development of a cotton plant; plants are extremely sensitive to wary-season weed competition. Improperly timed or ineffective weed management applications may cause a significant reduction in yield opportunity. For optimal weed management, any preemergence or postemergence herbicide application should be made when weeds less than 4 inches tall.
