Controlling Volunteer Corn Post Harvest

Depending on when harvest occurs, kernels lost at harvest may still germinate this fall. It is best to control volunteer corn when small; therefore, if corn emerges in the fall or early winter a post-harvest herbicide application or deep tillage may help reduce volunteer corn populations next spring. All possible control options should be considered for the best management of volunteer corn in a given field situation.
