What is the Value in a Bag of Seed?

Monsanto corn products give farmers peace of mind with value-added traits in every bag of seed. When you purchase corn seed, you’re also investing in protection from some of the problems that result in economic losses every year. Offerings include:

  • Elite genetics. All Monsanto corn products are bred and rigorously tested for high yield potential, early-season vigor, and improved standability.

  • Herbicide tolerance traits. Corn products include tolerance to glyphosate and/or glufosinate herbicides.

  • Insect protection traits. Corn products with insect protection traits provide in-plant protection from many above ground and/or below ground insects including corn rootworm and European corn borer.

  • Disease resistance. Products are available with varying levels of tolerance to economically important diseases including northern corn leaf blight and Goss’s wilt.

  • Drought tolerance traits. Drought products have demonstrated a yield advantage over non-drought products in on-farm trials experiencing drought conditions, yet have the potential to maintain top-end yield in well-watered conditions.
