Pre-Harvest Grain Sorghum Desiccation and Weed Control

After producing seed, grain sorghum remains green until killed by tillage, freezing temperatures, or a desiccant. If a desiccant is applied after grain moisture content falls to 30%, grain sorghum yield potential should not be reduced. Farmers should plan ahead to desiccate grain sorghum and control late-season weeds prior to harvest.
