Kochia - A Weed to Watch

Kochia is tough-to-control and an integrated management approach is needed for its control and to prevent the spread of resistance. It is one of the most troublesome weeds across the Great Plains and western United States. It is one of the earliest summer annual broadleaf weeds to germinated in the spring, and it will continue to germinate throughout the growing season. Kochia has an imperfect flower that allows cross-pollination, which has importance for the spread of herbicide resistance.
