Research & Trials

Takes a System of Solutions to Help Maximize Yield Potential on Each Cotton Acre

We believe that increasing yield potential does not just happen in the lab. It is the combination of advanced breeding, biotechnology, trials and agronomic practice improvements farmers employ that help drive yield. It is a complete system working in partnership with the grower to drive yield in a sustainable way. Backed by Monsanto, Deltapine cotton seed goes through years and years of research and product trials in labs, on trial plots and on farms just like yours before it is sold commercially in your area.

Research Pipeline

Our Research & Development Pipeline is designed to address the challenges farmers face. We strive to increase yield potential and reduce the impact of pests, stress and disease.

Internal Variety Trials

Cotton varieties are tested under controlled environment systems in order to find the varietal response to scripted amounts of water to more adequately position the right variety on each farm.

Farmer Variety Trials

The last step of variety research and development is the New Product Evaluator (NPE) program, where farmers evaluate and provide feedback that helps determine which cotton lines are named and sold commercially, and helps us more adequately position the right variety for the right region or farm.
